What is the BNHA Omegaverse Exchange?
The BNHA Omegaverse Exchange features several 9 week “rounds” every year centered around omegaverse dynamics and the characters in My Hero Academia with a different optional theme. In this event, you will create a gift (of either fanfiction, fanart, or both!) for someone and receive a gift in return in an “exchange”-type dynamic.
What content is allowed?
We are a pro-ship pro-content event, so all content is allowed. The only restrictions will be what is specified in your assignment.
Characterbowl and one sided omegaverse dynamics requests are allowed.
What are the requirements to participate?
Participants must have an AO3 account and be 18+. There's no application, no experience requirement, no minimum follower count. If you participated in the previous round, you must have commented on your gift before sign ups close.The minimum requirements for creations are as follows:
Fic: 750 words that is a completed scene/one shot (Open endings are allowed).
Art: 1 piece cleanly sketched
What are the rules?
Simple!
1. Complete the minimum requirement for your creation—You may go plus ultra but do not expect your gifter to do the same
2. Inform the mods of your Do Not Matchs before assignments come out
3. Respect your giftee's wants & Do Not Wants (DNW are nonnegotiable)
4. Post your assignment on time
5. Communicate with the mods if anything comes up—Defaulting will not affect your ability to participate in future rounds, but ghosting will
6. Comment on your gift before sign ups close of the next roundNon-compliance with the rules could result in a 1-round ban on participation. Repeated instances could result in an extended or permanent ban.
How do I sign up?
You can find all the information on how to sign up for a round in our sign up guide. We use the AO3 sign up format and it is the same for every round.
How do I join the BNHA Omegaverse server?
Click the Discord button on the homepage of our carrd. You can return to the homepage by pressing the Home button above. Joining the server is not required to participate, nor do you have to participate if you join. Be around others who enjoy omegaverse as much as you do!
What is Do Not Match (DNM)?
Do Not Matches are people that you do not want to interact with/receive requests or offers from. We do not need a reason they are on your list, just their username so we can make sure you both aren't paired together.It's a good idea to look over the sign up submissions for each round to see if any DNMs are signed up that may not have previously, as well as to inform the mods of all your DNMs even if they are not participating on the off chance they do in the future.Talk to mods about DNMs before assignments happen! You can do so by reaching out to us through the contact page on Carrd, our socials, email, or opening a mod ticket in the Discord server.
What is Do Not Want (DNW)?
You MUST include any DNWs in your request description. DNWs are nonnegotiable and to be avoided.They must be specific! We will not enforce vague DNWs like 'problematic' etc, as these vary person to person. The more specific you are, the easier time everyone has to deliver something you'll enjoy!Purposefully violating a giftee's DNWs will result in a permanent ban
How do I submit an assignment/treat?
You can find all the information on how to post your assignment or a treat in our posting guide. It is the same for every round.
What are treats?
Treats are extra fanworks created for a participant in the exchange, outside of your assignment, or works created for participants by people outside of the exchange. Participants may only complete treats once their assignment is completed.From the 'Request Summary' page of the AO3 collection, you can view all the requests and prompts by the exchange participants. To write a treat, simply respect the recipient's 'do not wants', and post it as a gift to the collection. There is no minimum/maximum requirement for treats, so please be responsible!How to post a treat can be found in our posting guide!
